Wharparilla Lodge is a 92 bed Ageing-in-Place residential accommodation facility built in 2 parts with the first 32 beds operational from 2006 and the second 60 beds completed in 2009. All rooms are single occupancy with en-suite. The facility is divided into 6 sections - each named after one of the local Paddle Steamers - providing residents with a home style environment with smaller dining rooms and lounge areas for each section. Around Wharparilla Lodge Echuca Benevolent Society has established a retirement village consisting of 79 2 and 3 bedroom independent living units (Cunningham Downs Village) as well as 14 single bedroom assisted living apartments (Brolga Apartments) thus providing 3 stages of care for the community.
