Salem has been part of the landscape of Toowoomba and surrounding districts for the past 75 years. Along the way the service has forged deep and broad links with the local community and gained a solid reputation becoming a sought-after provider in the region. We have two services at separate sites in Toowoomba (Salem and Salem Northridge) both just minutes from the city centre offering high care low care and secure dementia support. In order to continually improve our quality of service to residents our staff benefit from training partnerships with the University of Southern Queensland the Toowoomba Hospice and St Vincent's hospital. These partnerships help staff to update their skills and learn about innovative approaches to supporting residents. We collaborate with local organisations and volunteers to promote variety companionship and emotional support to residents. Salem and Northridge Salem provide a variety of activities designed to be mentally stimulating and meaningful. We also offer regular activities including day trips craft groups gardening men's groups and more. 'The staff have always been very approachable and helpful whenever we feel the need to have a chat about Mum and her problems as her dementia worsens. The diversional therapists are wonderful with so many interesting activities planned to fill the day. We usually find mum occupied by quizzes word games painting cooking and pampering sessions. This new approach to home support offers you flexibility choice and control. We can provide help in your own home (including retirement villages) to assist you to live as independently as possible. As we get older a bit of assistance to continue living at home can go a long way - especially if that assistance is custom-designed especially for you - and by you if you wish.
