Eldercare Acacia Court was originally built by the City of Woodville in 1983 and acquired by Eldercare in 2001. Since 2010 many of the site's common areas and bathrooms have been refurbished and other areas of the home will be renovated over the next 12 months as part of our commitment to providing a quality home environment. Acacia Court is located on Tapleys Hill Road approximately 12 km from the CBD. The site is easily accessible to local amenities such as the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Westfield West Lakes shopping centre via public transport services. Acacia Court has 101 rooms featuring a number of different accommodation options ranging from single bedrooms with ensuites through to double rooms with shared bathroom facilities; suitable for couples. There is a separate secure Memory Support Unit for residents requiring specialised Dementia Care services and plans are underway to expand this area with improved facilities. In addition to our comprehensive clinical care programs we offer a full range of allied health services to the local community at our Day Therapy Centre. A chaplain is on site four days a week to provide emotional and spiritual support to residents and families. Meals are cooked onsite daily by a chef. A continental breakfast is provided daily with a cooked breakfast offered one day a week. Acacia Court caters for residents from diverse cultural backgrounds and our Lifestyle Program is designed to celebrate this diversity. Our adaptive and flexible program is also tailored to the needs of residents with dementia and other health issues. Residents are encouraged to maintain community links and are assisted to attend offsite meetings with groups such as Legacy Lions and Rotary. The Charles Sturt Council community bus is used regularly for outings. As part of our intergenerational program local schools and kindergartens celebrate events with residents and perform recitals several times a year. Residents enjoy the use of a computer kiosk as well as one-to-one interaction using iPads. Acacia Court embraces the use of technology to enhance lifestyle opportunities and reduce social isolation for our residents.
